It is now June, almost July and we are still in the grips of the COVID-19 pandemic. I am not writing here as much as I should be so forgive me if I start posting more random thoughts and feelings. I really should be putting my daily feelings and experiences down.

We went on a family adventure yesterday. We have not been getting out and doing outdoor things as much as we should. My family are such hermits.

We found a local state park that is a historic battlefield. It had a couple of 1 mile long hiking trails. It went along a river. They had a little museum that shows the information about the park and of course sells souvenirs and stuff. The kids really seemed to enjoy the time. We walked along one trail, then we went over to where there are waterfalls. There were rangers out that made it clear that we are not allowed to swim in the water because of the virus. But we did get to walk down and put our feet in and climb on the rocks around the falls. We spent no more than an hour or two out there but it was so much fun. Then we found the nearest Sonic and got milkshakes. It was a great day.

We have no idea what the next few months will bring, if school will start in person, if we will go back to work in a building other than home, or if the number of deaths will slow. But one thing I do know, we have to take advantage of the time we have together and enjoy the life we have on this earth.
